In the Footsteps of the Modern-Day Exodus from Egypt

We invite you to organize a journey to Poland and Israel on a unique Essential Israel program. With over 10 years of experience organizing these types of programs, we are able to ensure a smooth and meaningful program for your group. Tour staff includes an Israeli guide and Christian scholar of Holocaust studies. Note: This is a sample itinerary. The tour can be adjusted to best match your group's timetable, interests, and budget. Tour can also include a visit to Prague or Berlin.

• Early morning arrival and transfer to Tel Aviv to rest and relax

• Brunch at hotel

• Visit Independence Hall where the State of Israel was declared out of the ashes of the   HolocaustIndependence__Hall.jpg

 • Visit the Diaspora Musuem which tells the story of the exile and Jewish communities around the world.

 • Visit a home for Holocaust survivors in Haifa

 • Overnight in Tiberius

 

 

Tuesday

• Start the morning at Mt Beatitudes where Jesus gave His Sermon on the Mount.

• Stop at Mt. Bental to more deeply understand the border issues with Syria and hear about the great miracles that have happened there in modern times, when Israel has faced annihilation, but was saved.

• Visit Tel Dan, an ancient Israelite town with remarkable archeology, rushing waters that feed the Sea of Galilee, and strategic lookout into Lebanon and Syria.

 Wednesday

 • Visit the Kinneret Cemetery. Learn about the pioneer era which preceded the establishment of the State and a special tribute to Naomi Shemer a famous Israeli songwriter who wrote Jerusalem of Gold among many others.

• Visit Yardenit where you may choose to be baptized in the waters of the Jordan River.

• Travel South to Jerusalem Via the Jordan Valley, the route that Jews in ancient times, and Jesus among them, walked from the Galilee to Jerusalem

• Marvel at the view of Jerusalem from the Mt. of Olives

• Overnight Jerusalem

 

Thursday

• Start the day in the Ancient City of David. You may choose to walk through King Hezekiah’s 2,700 year old water tunnel for an exhilarating experience. See the remains of King David’s palace. Walk through an over 2,000 year old tunnel which will lead you to the foundations of the Western Wall at the Davidson Center Excavations. Take off your shoes and walk on the steps leading to the Temple where Jesus walked.

• Enjoy a meaningful visit and prayer at the Garden Tomb.

Conclude this remarkable day with a discussion about Jewish and Christian relations in the post-Holocaust era at the Center for Jewish and Christian Understanding and Cooperation  (CJCUC).  

Overnight: Jerusalem

Friday

• Start the day at the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (ICEJ) to hear about Christian support for the State of Israel and the projects the ICEJ are involved with to help the remaining 300,000 Holocaust survivors in Israel.

• Visit to Yad Vashem, Israel’s National and International Memorial for a special tour by Christian Friends of Yad Vashem.

•Walk the path that connects Yad Vashem physically and spiritually to Mt Herzl, Israel’s National Cemetery

• Enjoy sights, sounds and aromas of Mahane Yehuda (the Jewish Market) and join Jerusalemites in buying some special treats to honor Shabbat (Jewish Sabbath)mahane_yehuda_spices.jpg

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Return to hotel and time to rest and prepare for Shabbat

• Join Jerusalem in welcoming in Shabbat at the Western Wall with song and dance.

• Experience a Traditional Shabbat dinner with explanations about the customs.

• Overnight Jerusalem

 

Saturday

• Enjoy some extra moments of rest this morning or instead opt for a walking tour of the New City of Jerusalem including a visit to the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem which was dedicated to the memory of the 6 Million.

• Time for some coffee, pastry and a great speaker

• Shabbat Lunch at the Hotel and time to share some closing thoughts about the program.

• Tour the Jewish Quarter and Mount Zion including the Traditional Tomb of King David and the Upper Room in which the Last Supper and Pentacost took place.

• Free Evening in Jerusalem for dinner, shopping and farewell.

• Overnight Jerusalem

 

Sunday

• Depart for the US
